This week’s Present for Music People is for those who like to kill trees. Ha ha! I mean it’s for those who like to see things OFF the computer. I know I do; that’s why I have a bookshelf instead of a Kindle. And if you have a musically-inclined person on your gift list who also likes to journal or scrapbook or otherwise notate things with a writing utensil, perhaps you might consider this:
It’s a journal specifically intended for musicians, complete with sheet music and music ruler for when compositional inspiration strikes away from Finale. In addition it features six tabbed categories — Artists, Lyrics, Playlists, Concerts, My Life in Music, and Music Map — plus extra tabs for your customized use. I think it would be especially nice for a performing musician, as they can take down the details of their concerts in one handy place and relive them later. At Amazon it costs about fourteen bucks.
Don’t trust the video, though — you can’t play a CD in the back cover. I know, I was disappointed too.
Updated to add: Happy date that shall live in infamy! I can’t believe I forgot to put that the first time. Fail.
